This year we will continue our clay experiments, in cooperation with ceramic artists, building a simple kiln, firing only clay from Iceland, which we the will dig down in the soil, to be able to see how fast it deteriorates.

We simply want to see if the current notion of clay not being used in Iceland during the settlement era could be false. It makes very little sense not to at least try and besides, there are items existing from this period, although not kitchen utencils, but crucilbles for metal smelting.
